Why was addmysupport.com set up? (Chris Davis, Founder)
A few years ago I was struck by the inequality in the help, support and opportunities available to individuals. Even those coming through the same systems seemed to have such a vast range between them. Often caused by social, economic and personal factors, it seemed clear to me that the internet could be used effectively to even out the accessibility and opportunities available to people in the UK, and even internationally, and overcome these social and physical injustices.
Individuals ability to access support services, information and opportunities are affected by social background, community, location, economic, physical and mental health factors that prevent equal opportunities for people in the real world and online. it can often be a case of who you know not what you know. Current support services can be isolated places operating only within their own contained on and offline ecosystems. So often it seemed to be a case of who you know not what you know.
Add My Support was the solution I came up with, to use the internet to overcome the physical, social and geographical barriers to accessibility of real life help and support.
The fact is everyday there are people in need of some form of help or assistance, whether it’s locally, nationally or on the other side of the world. Addmysupport.com makes sure the help and assistance that is often so desperately needed, is readily and easily available to anyone who requires it, wherever they are and regardless of their circumstances.
